Ares (Ancient Greek: Αρης, literally meaning "battle") was the god of chaotic war, bloodshed, violence, and strife. In Greek literature, he often represents the physical or violent and untamed aspect of war, in contrast to his half-sister the armored Athena, whose functions as a goddess of intelligence include military strategy and generalship. He is also often called the God of Courage In Greek mythology, Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera. He was a war god and the personification of violence and chaos. Ares had many lovers, but his most famous lover was Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. As such, Ares is often associated with passion, desire and lust, as well as war and destruction, which is fitting for the Aries
