It took about 2 hours before the old one finally stopped working and the reader said to start a new one. It just adds extra down time. 2 hours for the old to stop plus hour startupmeans a 3 hour gap of no readings plus the first 12-24 of slightly off readings as it adjusts. Freestyle Libre problem with iPhone. I started using the Freestyle Libre on my iPhone X. I worked for the first 14 days. It worked fine on the Libre meter, but not on the iPhone. I have the latest iOS software. I deleted the app and re-downloaded. Nothing changed. I switches the sensor on my arm and it still worked. Call Abbott and make them diagnose it. They might even send you a new one if thet deem the sensor is defective. Just wait a while and try again. This issue is incessant when it happens, but unpredictably intermittent. I get signal loss every fifteen or so minutes, and I know others are having similar problems. The FreeStyle LibreLink app is approved for use with the FreeStyle Libre sensor. Now you can check your glucose by scanning your sensor with your phone. You can use the FreeStyle LibreLink app to: * View your current glucose reading, trend arrow and glucose history. * Add notes to track your food, insulin use and exercise. Make sure your logged in to the Libre 2 app on the old phone. Scan sensor with old phone first. Then turn on new phone and follow the transfer/set up procedures. Once new phone is set up, sign into the Libre 2 app on the new phone. All your data is stored in Libre View and will automatically be transferred. Before you scan the sensor, make sure Open up the Freestyle Libre App. Click on the 3 lines on the top right and then Alarms. Then you can click on the specific alarm and toggle it off. NOTE in the US can not toggle off the low glucose alarm but can set the threshold to the minimum allowed. The workarounds for the Urgent Low Glucose Alarm, if you don't want it to disturb sleep, are:
After the FreeStyle Libre 14 day sensor is attached to the back of your upper arm, open the FreeStyle LibreLink app * and tap one of the scan buttons within the app to put the iPhone in a scan ready state. There are two types of scan buttons: a blue button on the Home screen and a gray scan icon in the top right corner of most screens.
The FreeStyle Libre 2 System is intended for use by a single person. It must not be used by more than one person due to the risk of misinterpreting glucose information. FreeStyle Libre 2 app and FreeStyle Libre 2 Readers do not share data. FreeStyle Libre 2 app and FreeStyle Libre 2 Readers do not share data.
It’s definitely going to be risky. The Libre 2 app actually completely failed on the iOS 16 beta, requiring an app update that showed up just before the final iOS 16 release. I do have a backup iPhone I could fall back to, but not really in need of running iOS 17 beta for now.
